 Singeing : A process of burning off protruding fibers from
 fabrics to give the fabric a smooth surface.
 
 
 
 
 Desizing : A process of removing the size material from
 the warp yarns in woven fabrics.
 Scouring : A process of removing dirt or grease from
 the fabrics by using by a detergent.
 Bleaching : A process of whitening fabrics by using
 optical bleaching agents.
 
 
 
 
 Mercerizing : A process of treating a cotton yarn or
 fabric in a caustic soda solution allowed a permanent
 swelling of the fiber, resulting in an increased
 luster on the surface of the fabric, an increased affinity
 for dyes, and increased strength.
